Trying to fix horn still... Airbag question

Can I take off the middle steering wheel cover without deploying the air bag..I want to see if the problem with the horn is in the steering wheel.. I see bolts behind the cover...

I know to discconnect the battery for a while..

Has anyone ever taken that off??

if you disconnect the battery and make sure you have no cell phone or any other type of product that has a battery in it that could back feed the electrical system including a power cap for a car stereo. and leave it set for at least 5 mins 10mins better you will have no problem disconecting the airbag from the the wheel on thing that could happen is when you reassemble you might get a airbag code. remember Nothing plug in to the cig lighter or hooked to battery that can supply power.

An air bag can deploy with shock too so treat it very carefully when/if you take it out. Make sure the front of the steering wheel is pointing upward not down. Just in case it deploys on accident, it doenst go flying.
