Tube Fender Owners

For those of you who own tube fenders that utilized the stock inner fender, I have a question or two.

I have a chance to pick up a set for $50.00 (not sure on brand at all), and I believe they use the inner fender. Where does it all get cut? I'm REALLY hesitant to install them for concern of REALLY screwing something up. I guess I could try to install and do the first one with my already messed up fender. If I screw it up, I have a spare passenger fender - it just needs paint.

I'd love to see in process pics to see where all the cutting was done.

Then I have to consider signal/running light options.

So show me what you've got, any issues you had, and pics of the in process.

Paul,

I've installed 2 different sets of fenders that reuse the inner fender and I always hate them.

Always.

It never comes out nice and if you don't get the cuts right you have gaps between the new outer fender and the inner fender. That's why I bought Rokmens. Nice inner fender to bolt everything to and it is designed to work together. Not like an after thought.

There is a good chance you can almost buy the whole new rokmen setup for the price of what you could sell your 2 good fenders for.

On the front blinkers JK front blinkers installed in the Grille CJ style.

I remember seeing it on Jerry B's thread about his MCE plastic fenders on his ex-rig

IIRC it was on jeepforum. I don't have a "premium membership" there so I can't use an advanced search (which is BS).

I'll have to look in to that. Do they have hi-line fenders only?

Knowing my financial planner, I'll need to have the fenders lined up for sale before buying anything new.

You have to cut all of the outer fender off except a little flap on the top. It's pretty nerve racking doing it the first time. I like mine alot (genrights) but I might go high line some day. If I find some pics I'll post them.
