Tummy Tucks

I am looking for a tummy tuck kit for my '03 TJ. I have so far only been able to find one made by Nth Degree Mobility. While I am sure they make good parts, $480 is a tad high for me. Does anyone know who else makes a good TT kit and where they are available. Thanks

go-fer it is pretty cheap and theyre very nice! I got a 1/4" thick one, and it bolts right up on there. It also ties in to my skid row oil pan skid very nicely!

try to think about where you want to go with your jeep. Do you eventually want to go to long arms? You can buy partial parts of kits from Rubicon Express. They have a flat skid that bolts up to their long arm kit and you can add it without any of the other parts. But you would be ready down the line if you wanted to go bigger. Just an example but it always pays to think about where you want to end up. Saves tons of money.

Good advice Mr Clifford. Not many of us have the money to build the perfect Jeep all at the same time. Like you said, it pays off in the end to plan your build when you start. Even if this part costs a little more, it is still cheaper that replacing it later.

If the Nth degree is to rich for you blood I would say the next best that I have seen (pics only) is the Go Fer it (sp?). I have seen pics of the Jeep medic and the clearance gains are not substantial enough to warrant going with that company, at least in my opinion. I'm currently running the Nth and am very pleased with the quality of their product.

I have the nth, and very little money. however it is worth the money in my opinion. You can go a bit cheaper with the medic skid setup. It is beefy and a well made unit as well.

Does anyone have the Rock Krawler one? It says no drive line modifications but would it have the clearance like Nth?

From what I have seen the Nth offers the most clearance. I can't recall if it requires a BL or not, haha. That info could of course be found on their site. The only thing I could think of is fear of doing the install? It really isn't hard at all, don't worry about it. If you have a newer Jeep I would go with a JKS budget MML that is nothing more then some metal blocks (spacers) and longer fastening hardware.

from my understanding you have to do a BL to do a MML. not really an fear of the install and I'm sure a 1'' BL doesnt take away from the appearance like a 3'' would. I just figured I got all this $$ tied up in to a SYE maybe I could save myself the trouble and a buck or two rather than doing what i didnt want to do anyway,,No offense just personal prefrence.I did a BL on my fsj cherokee and swore them off forever. I had to cut holes in a rust free floor pan and i broke one of those rare fan shrouds

Reasoning behind this is that when you raise the Tcase and tranny up with the new skid it puts things out of whack which is where the MML comes into play. No matter if you have an SYE or not on the TCase the Dshaft wouldn't actually be the problem. It would just be the result of the Driveline being out of kilter. The BL come from lifting up TCase and is solely needed for clearance issues with the tub. You lift up the case and tranny a couple more inches and you start hitting the tub. I don't think that Nth sells their completely flat skid anylonger simply because people didn't realize all of the work you have to do to install something like that. That's why they only sell the 1.25" drop belly up now. To fit a truly flat skid you need like a 1" or 1.25" BL and also need to pound some metal on the bottom of the tub so that everything will fit up in there.

Body Lifts if used properly can be very beneficial to help with a good suspension travel range. Of course we all know that we have seen the 3 to 6 inch body lifts either on Jeeps or trucks and that there is just dangerous. But a good BL/MML combo on your jeep will not harm anything.

hey i just want to thank all of you all for everything. i think i am just going to come off of the $$ and buy the Nth 1.25 drop TT. from all i can find to read they offer the most clearance gains and the most upgrade options later on in life. thanks again guys, couldnt do it without yall.

My husband posted this to the club we belong to. I told him you'll were talking about skids, does anyone have any feed back?
I'm concerned about the open areas...looks like a good place to get hung up on obsticles, my vote is for the Nth'.

Based on those two models I would go with the Nth too. That 33 skid does have a nice feature with the curved center section to help slide over obstacles. But I also see what you are saying with the extra large opening for the Dshaft and yoke hanging you up. The Nth skid is top notch construction.

1.) Nth does not require a BL or MML, see pics above.
2.) It gives the most ground clearance at about 3" gained in the middle.
3.) For most of the tummy tucks, Nth included, you CANNOT do a MML without a BL and use the tuck. The tuck smashed everything up into the tub so far that a MML would be worse and surely contact the tub. As of now I have less than 1/4" to 1/2" (maybe a bit more, but it doesn't seem like it).
4.) A BL/MML is a fine option for making these work, however I just don't like them. I know it's stupid, because they are a great way to make tires fit better, easy way to achieve upward travel without contact, and gives more room for those tummy tucks, but I just don't like them.
5.) If you are already lifted 2-3 inches, and you are contemplating a SYE (I'm not as I have the NP 241) get ready, becuase you will likely need one now as those tucks really change the angles up there. I have a 1" spacer lift and the Nth TT and there is no way I could squeeze another inch of lift in there without needing a new driveshaft.
