Turn signal troubles

Aright i have a 98 wrangler. When i put the left turnsignal on all the back lights start to flash like the hazard lights are on. Then when i press on the brake the light on the dash turns solid. The right turn signal works normally along with just the hazard lights.

check the ground on the left rear tail light. it sounds like it is not getting a ground and is backfeeding thru your other lights.. good luck and welcome to the WF....

if the ground doesn't work you can replace your turn signal switch. Its about a $45 part and 1 hour of work if you take your time.

I'd agree on the ground front - being that its just one side, your left signal is probably grounding through the hazard circuit.
I don't remember how the TJs are wired, but there are two common ways for hazards to react when the break is pushed - you either remain flashing and have no brake lights (except for the high-mount) or the stop flashing and you get brake lights on the front of your vehicle, so them stopping could very well be normal behavior for that.
