U joint removal

Long story short I had angry sparrows. Ordered the centering ball and 3 u joints for the front driveshaft. Got the axle end u joint out and the one on the outside of the double cardan. I can't remove the inner u joint and the bearing cap has no broke and I can't remove the last u joint

They can hard to get out. Pop the clips and do what you have to. I've used big C clamps to push them out and I've even clamped it in a vice and pounded it out. Takes a bit of patience, lots of energy and a few beers.
Sometimes using a bit of heat helps.

Using the big c clamp tool I actually managed to shatter a cap on a u joint as it had rusted in the axle shaft. It was a PIA to get the rest of the cap out once u joint was removed. I heated all of the other caps prior to removing after that.

I always use beer, hot wrench, my trusty BFH, and an impact socket on a block of wood. But the axle u joints I'm a little more careful with.
Jeeps never get stuck or broke. Just parked in odd places for an indeterminate length of time.

If the cap has broke then your in for a real treat. I just went through this. I used a screwdriver a vice and a hammer. I got the ujoint free enough to get the needle bearings to come out. The made more room in the cap to hammer the screwdriver into and after a few words the cap came out. Watch youtube on how to remoce u-joint with a vice.

best bet is to rent the c clamp from an auto parts store

That last u joint is a real pita!! I got mine out but in the process broke one of the little tits that hold it in place on side that attaches to yoke. Good news is there is a tit on the yoke side also so although not the best I was still able to put shaft back in without a prob. Not doing any hardcore wheeling so has been ok to I can get a new shaft or just yoke side of the shaft. Good luck
