Lots of us non-ASE Master Mechanics (shadetree mechanic is more my speed) have installed SYE kits. If you're competent with tools & can take things apart & get them back together again without extra parts left over or freaking out, you should have no problem. You will only need a set of EXTRA-WIDE opening snap-ring pliers since common snap-ring pliers don't open widely enough to remove/reinstall some of the snap-rings that are in a transfer case.

When you have a choice, buy American.

I changed out my axles with a couple, I mean a couple of extra bolts. PRobalby would explain why my jeep is wobbly. That just reinforces the idea I should that just reinforces the idea I should take it into the dealership.

I just really dont know where those bolts could have come from, Ive checked alot of the places too.

If you get the replacement shaft for the SYE, there's plenty of write-ups to read thru and see if you feel comfortable. There is also the hack & tap version out there as well, where I believe you cut the existing shaft and tap.

I had the same problem w/ my u joint. I found this part Original Replacement Parts 8126638SP - DANA SPICER® 760x Replacement Series U-Joint for the OEM 297x Series U-Joint - Quadratec that's it, right? Also, if you changed it out in the parking lot I assume it's relatively easy to pull off, yes?
