U Joints

My 97 TJ has 212k on it now and it appears that it still has the factory U Joints everywhere. I bought this vehicle about 2 months ago and plan on fixing everything I can before starting any mods.

What would be the best selection for U Joints? All 7 of them. Greasable or sealed?

I appreciate any insight

Spicer, non greasable.

Anything spicer is a good joint I normally try to get sealed just because I probably won't grease them enough since it's a dd and the good sealed ones shouldn't have the grease tubes drilled into them while the cheaper ones (like the autozone brand) have the grease passages with or without the greasable option which some say makes them weaker. I won't say if it makes them weaker or not because I have never tested it.

Links fixed.

You need 1 of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008M2...f_=cm_sw_su_dp

5 of these. Spicer 5-1310X U-Joint Kit by Spicer http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009X1X91O/..._vq4ptb05HMHWR

2 of these. Spicer 5-760X U-Joint Kit by Spicer http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009X1XDZG/..._yl4ptb08TFBRY

The press can be borrowed for free at O'Reillys auto. Once pressed out you can use a pair of pliers or vise grips to pull the caps off. Have fun.

I take it the link showing 2 joints are for the front axle. I hVe always used greaseable fittings in all my vehicles, never a sealed one. I will give a sealed one a try since most people recommend them.

I appreciate all the help and advice.

Generally speaking, sealed u-joints are stronger and more durable. I'd only use greasable if I was frequently running through deep soupy mud and could be conscientious about greasing them after each run. The recommendation for the sealed Spicer 5-760x for the axle shafts and 5-1310x u-joints is right on.
