Unusual starting issue. Any ideas?
I know there have been previous threads discussing starting issues similar to mine however I wasn't able to find an answer in any of the previous threads since mine didn't seem to match them.
My issue behaves like this:
First thing in the morning my '97 Wrangler starts right up as normal on the first turn of the key. Pretty much every time I start it after the first start up in the morning I have to crank it at least two times and sometimes three. I've tried to only turn the key to the on position rather than actually cranking it but that doesn't work.
I've read about the fuel check valve leaking and draining the fuel back into the tank but I would think if that were the issue my Jeep wouldn't start up fine first thing in the morning. I've also read about a cam shaft and/or a crank shaft position sensor issue.
Before I start laying out the money for parts I'd like to see if anyone has any advice for me on either troubleshooting this or pointing me in the proper direction.
Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer.
