I have a 2005 sport 4.0 automatic with a 4" lift I've already replace my vehichle speed sensor once before and now its busted again any advice? Also does anyone know where its located so maybe I could install it this time?

This is just a guess...but when I had to replace it on my old Dodge truck, it was located on the tailshaft of the transmission. If yours is too...one thing to keep in mind, when I replaced mine I ended up with transmission fluid pouring out of the hole all over my head. So... don't lay directly under it.

What exactly is "busted"? Is the sensor bad, not reading or broken? Are you referring to the plastic gear?

According to the code readers at advance and autozone my speed sensor is bad and needs to be replaced but I don't know for sure since I haven't taken it to a mechanic because frankly I just don't trust mechanics and don't go to one unless I absolutely have to.
