Vibrations 03 TJ auto

I just recently added a BDS 2 inch lift with 31s and a 1 inch transfer case drop. I have only driven around town a little and notice a slight vibration. Top speed not over 60, but the vibration seems more noticable around 40 or so when in town. This is my 2nd vehicle so I didnt put many miles on it before the lift. I have read that these engines paired with a auto overdrive tranny, give off a slight vibration at low speeds..

Did you test drive after the suspension lift, before you dropped the transfer case? Most of the time, a transfer case drop is not needed with a short 2" lift.

Wel it very much depends. I have an '03 auto with 2' lift WITH a 1" MML and I still have a minor tc drop to get rid of some vibes.

You may also want to loosen the 4 transmission nuts (securing the transmission to the transfer case skid) and drive the Jeep forward and backward a few feet to allow for the transmission to settle. Retorque the nuts to 21 ft lbs and check if the vibes remain.

- Is the vibration there below 40 and above 60?

- Do you feel it in your butt or the steering wheel?

I drove it a little after lift and it had a slight vibe you could feel in your seat. The T/C drop took care of that, but what I was feeling now was more in the pedal. After doing some research, I took a small trip around town with Overdrive turned off and it made a big difference.. I think the vibes I was getting was due to engine lugging (more of a harmonic type of vibe) and tranny searching for what gear to be in due to running 31s.. For now on I will turn off overdrive before I put in gear and only use on Hwy. I still feel a slight vibe in pedal when I am sitting still in gear and barely give it gas. That as well feels like a harmonic type and goes away quickly as the RPMs go up.. I will check motor mounts, but I think it is the 6 and 42 combo that is main problem at low RPMs..
Thanks for the replys.
