I've seen people post about their install, so it's possible. Keep looking, you'll find a write up on it I'm sure. The only one I remember seeing were large, and clamped to the roll bar. Didn't leave much headroom for rear passengers.
I was wondering the same thing. I have a good friend that has an audio shop. I'll ask him and if I find out anything solid I'll let you know. I'm thinking it would give better sound than the light bar option.
I got some JL audio ones from my mastercraft x30 wakeboard tower that we replaced do to hail damage, just used some silicone based glue and glued some of the cracks in the broken ones (which were few and hardly noticable) and modded my tower speaker box already in my jeep to accommodate the 7 3/4"
wake tower speakers and tweeters and just threw them in there and it sounds awsome and waay better/cleaner and louder then the stock ones
I just did last weekend. They are pretty awesome. They are MTX something or other. Don't know exact model off hand. Hooked em up to my amp. They are LOUD with the hardtop on! There's a million different styles just make sure you check the bar diameter. I forgot that little rid bit and had to use a lot of rubber between the housing and roll bar. I have a few crappy pics
those look great and are out of the way, I could have 3 sets of speakers possibly but I would want my padding too so I would have to measure. I'm seriously considering it now that looks great

Wakeboard tower speakers are awesome! i have 2 MTX cannons mounted to my rear rollbars wired to a 600 watt amp. They sound 10x better than the soundbar. I use them a lot for tailgates because of how loud they get. The total setup cost a little less than $500, i think about $200 for the two speakers and $250 for the polk amp.
