got a 2003 jeep TJ 4.0L??? So...wanna change lifters...have to change cam....chaning cam??? change timing chain....Wanna do all that??? buy 200 bucks worth of new gaskets....but wait...wanna get the camshaft out with the motor still mounted??? Have to unbolt the grill....oh yea...and remove the bumper if you have a guard/winch on it... also...gotta break down the engine to get to the lifters...this means the cylinder head has to come over and get scrubbed for new gaskets.

next time im just going to get a new engine... lol ...

I'm kidding i had fun this weekend. My buddy and I got all that done in 2 days. Not bad for a couple of white boys...covered in assembly lube...

Hah yeah, a project that doesn't seem all that bad in the beginning always seems to escalate in complexity, time, and issues once it starts. I had the same thing happen this weekend while doing what should have been a one hour front-end job. Beyond that, has anyone besides me ever discovered how any project involving antiseize like my front-end job can suddenly turn you, your Jeep, the garage floor, parts of the bathoom, and the laundry room sink into a complete antiseize colored mess that doesn't easily clean up? :D
