Washer fluid pump - sealing

My washer fluid's been leaking fairly quickly (within a day) since I got my jeep, so I decided to finally get a replacement pump, as I'm pretty sure they were the problem. I replaced the more worn looking one, but now the seal on the grommet to the tank is so loose that when I fill it, it just pretty much pours right out.

I don't remember the instructions on sealing the grommet. Is there something I should use?

So long as you got the right pump, my bet is the pump hole in the tank is worn. I would take the tank out of the engine compartment & use a good silicone caulking sealant to seal where the pump is seated. I have replaced a few windshield washer pumps & they all sealed fine so I can only guess the hole is worn to a bigger size.

Gone wheeling Friday through Sunday.

When you have a choice, buy American.

Just had the same problem. Tried everything to seal the pumps with every product available with no success. Had to buy a new one. Hope you have better luck.

Did you have to buy a new pump or a new washer fluid tank? I experienced the same thing after a tough off road trip. I though it was radiator fluid at first then I traced where it is coming from and it is the lower of two holes on the left side of the tank. Is it easy to take out the washer fluid tank to examine it closely?
