Exclamation water in auto tranny

I recently was wheelin and crossed a creek somehow the vent on top of my auto tranny sucked in water and killed my transmission i replaced it with a Jasper rebuild my question is how can i prevent this from happening agian ..is there a way to relocate the vent or somthing of that nature or is this a price i have to pay for having a auto TJ

Your transmission is a 32RH and it doesn't have a vent on top, its vent is located on the front of the transmission near the top. You have to pull the tranny to get to its vent hole. I haven't done this to my 32RH but those who have done this sealed up the front vent hole and tapped the top of the transmission to insert a 3/8" barbed hose fitting. It's not easy but if you have the time, it's worth it if you wheel where the water gets deep enough. I'm lucky I don't have that worry since most of my wheeling is in the desert.

thanks

hmmm i wish i would have asked this question earlier before i had the jasper tranny installed yesterday but i guess thats how it goes ..plus iam not sure if that would void the warrenty but thanks for the info its summthin to ad to the list of "to do's"
