Weird engine problem

ok so my engine light has been turning on and off every once in a while, so i went to autozone and had them run a trouble code on it. turns out the 02 sensor after the catalytic converter is defective. so today i went got the new sensor and put it in. started the engine and no light. so to clear the code i unhooked my battery and hooked it back up. when i went to start its idle is down to like 250 rpms?!?!?! it usually idles at 750-800. any ideas?!?!

Well Are the two sensors different? Maybe they gave you the wrong one so its readings are not right?

its the right sensor just double checked it. it just kinda fixed its self, i had to keep on the throttle to get the rpms up but after about 2-3 min i was able to back off the throttle and it idled at what it use to. i shut it of and restarted it and it takes a sec after it starts to get the rpm up to its norm,i took it out and drove it around and she seems to have a bit more pep and the idle seems much more stable.
