Try to picture the tranny mount as a stationary pivot point.

Yeah Blu, I see it's a sorta easy fix now. But just so y'all know, linkage sounds very intimidating. I had visions of something horrible with springs and such shooting every which way when I touched it or the entire thing dropping out because I loosened the wrong bolt.

Thanks guys, I never fail to get the answers I need here.

you mean this?

He is unscrewing the screws i'm talking about, see the long slots? On mine the screws are all the way in the back of those slots.. after a MML the screws move forward

Everyone is basically correct, the tranny will try to move forward and the angles of everything will also change, let's just agree to that.

technically, if the motor mount moves vertical in an arch with the tranny mount as its pivot the mount would move backwards

back to tiny again what do you mean like crap? like something is stopping it or what? Like if you shuv it in 2wd where does the shifter stay at? You're shifting while the tranny is in neutral right?

Yes, I'm shifting in neutral. Doesn't want to shift, doesn't want to stay in 4low.

hmm the paste has slowed down a bit.. gotta catch up

Tiny let me gues when in 2wd the shifter doenst quite reach the end where it's suppose to be does it? It stays around the middle of where 2wd and 4hi used to be? for mine i just put the shifter in 2wd and then unscrewed the adjusting screw and then moved the shifter to 2wd and tighten it and walah.

He put it in 2WD, loosened the bolt he showed you earlier and slid the block that the bolt goes into where it needed to be for the shifter handle to be in the correct position. Then he retightened the bolt and wahala! But for me that block would not move, if it does for you it should be a pretty simple fix!!

yeah what Jherrin said.. when i first installed the tranny bracket and all that my shifter would shift to 2wd and would be around the middle of 2wd and 4hi setting inside altough the tcase is all set at 2wd..

I didnt try the 4lo because if i cant get the tcase to fully go into 4lo than whats the point of putting the shifter there and hoping the tranny would shift by it self when you unscrew the adjusting bolt..

Now on the other hand if you cant shift into 2wd even with the shifter all the way there and when you shift to 4low the shifter only goes to around the N area thats the same thing just the other way.

So give that a shot.. shift to 2wd.. (where does ur shifter stop).. unscrew the adjusting screw and move the shifter all the way to the 2wd setting untill it hits the end. get under the rig and tighten it up. Have some one help you.. its much better when some one is underneath the rig making sure the adjusting block is sliding across the rod, for mine it didnt so 20 minutes i was guessing it's mooving while instead it was possibly just bending a bit, i used WD-40 at that point. Better than guessing. Took me half an hour doing it by my self.. would have taken me 5 minutes if some one was there to help me.

Oooooooh. I did that. Loosened the bolt with it in 2wd and then moved it here and there to look, then stuck it all the way back down. Now the handle is level with the console. But shifts like crap. I guess I have some tweaking to do.
