What are these screw holes?

I don't know if all wranglers have these or it was used for a sound system. In the trunk space, there are 2 screw holes with threads on each of the sides. Maybe it was used to secure speakers. Any thoughts? The threaded holes are on the sides, not on the floor. Thanks for any info.

Wranglers have neither trunks or sound systems (they have a radio).
Where exactly, can you post a picture.

LOL, true about the trunks, I didn't know how to describe the small space behind the back seat. I believe the previous owner had some subwoofers due to their being audio wiring coming out from the back. I'll post some pics as soon as I can, I guess that'll be the best way to describe it. Thanks.

Do you mean on the bottom area of the rear sportbar, about where they attach to the tub?

Dunno on a TJ, but what he is describing would be the seat bracket holes on a YJ

I think you may be reffering to the holes to use for an insta-trunk. Basically a metal piece that bolts into those holes to make a secure space with your back gate.

Yea that looks like where I bolted my insta-trunk. Not sure if there is another purpose but works perfectly for the insta-trunk.

Maybe that's why I don't have them. Don't believe they make an insta-trunk for the Unlimiteds.

Yep, right on the money. The original owner told me the exact same thing when I talked to him today. He said he actually used those to secure his subwoofers, which is not a bad idea.....
