What Gears with a 6 speed??

Ok i have a 6 speed tj and am currently running 32's

i am gonna make the jump to 33's here soon as these are wearing out.

i would like to install true tracs front and rear and also either 4.10s or 4.56 gears.

which gear set will be best suited for me since i run a 6 speed. This is my Daily Driver.

Thanks for all the input most of my searches brought up which gears for the 5 speed or auto.

Thanks again

i would run 4.56 for sure. JMO (if not 4.88 because i would go to 35's eventually )

Having made the mistake of regearing to 4.10 for 33" tires years ago, I second mrbigjeep's 4.56 recommendation to regear to 4.56. 4.10 does not adequately/totally compensate for the increased power needs of a 33" tire.

How do you like it currently with 32s? If it is good with 32, 33 will only change effective gear ratio by 3%. IF you are happy with it now, you will still be happy with it with 33s. If you are also going heavier (more plys or more aggressive) or wider(11.5 to 12.5), then rolling resistance also increases. I know the above posts recommend 4.56 but I have 3.73s and 35s and it is right for me. I use first gear as a first gear and 6th only over 60 mph. With 33s I could use 6th at 50 comfortably, but could also start from stopped in second gear. To each his own.

i have 3.07s with 32's and it sucks big time. no power on the highway unless i'm in like 4th gear...and even then its only moderate power

6cyl, 6speed

you may be able to use 6th goin 50 but what happens when you hit a hill? or even try to accelerate?

if you're gonna regear, you might as well go with the 4.56. i cant see spending a thousand dollars to change ur ratio by .37 (3.73 to 4.10) plus then when you want to go bigger you'll be ready
