What is this?

I have a 1997 Jeep TJ 2.5 liter 5 speed. I bought it used and it came with alot of electrical issues. I have fixed many of them but have a question about what I believe is a factory wiring box. It is held on by 2 Philips screws and sits just under the parking brake.
1) What is it called
2) What does it go to?

Thanks in advanced!

It's a proximity sensor for an aftermarket alarm.

my red jeep had one, the PO had an alarm and it quit working and he removed most of it. I found one of those and another little box mounted under the dash. I removed them.

And it's not factory.

Re

Thanks alot for the info! I was changing the oil yesterday and actually found an alarm horn so that makes sense! They mounted the alarm horn behind the front bumper. Looks like more wire tracing is in my future! Thanks again!
