If you are having the bumper re-chromed, ask them to smooth the welds before plating. Then you will not need the covers.

Just trying to keep my Jeep authentic to the factory setup. This is the way restorations are done. Down to the original stickers on the engine, and every grommet and bolt. I want to keep my Jeep in show car form. In spite of my occasional off road treks.

You got the wrong model then for a "restoration".......

Thanks for your replies. My bumper is on, and the old "loop covers"? worked fine. I just glued the fastener to the cover to make sure the fastener doesn't fall out.

I have the same chrome bumper and I am not ashamed to say I like it. The tubular ends rusted a little so I trimmed about 3" off with a saws- all. And bought new end plugs off ebay. Looks great.

If you like it that is all that matters. Some people hate broccoli, but I like it. Variety is the spice of life.

Yeah, I brought new end plugs, all around, for mine too. They were only $3 each. I am thinking about adding a winch to it. Sort of wish, I had just ordered the winch with my Jeep. I just didn't think that I'd ever use it. So, $1000 dollars for a cosmetic application seems a waste of money.
