What is this plug behind center console?

Yes, I've searched, and I never like asking the same questions someone has already asked, but this one is a little weird.

So I was installing my fog lights the other day and after I removed the center console, I removed the cigarette lighter housing that has the blanks for switches. Now I have a 98 Sport (manual), and there are 3 blanks installed, I of course was going to use one of the spots.

When I got the Cigarette lighter housing off this plug was plugged into the far right (passenger side) blank. Looks OEM, what is it for?

It may be possible that your jeep is wired for fog lights. Most of the time if they are the plugs will be tucked up inside the front fenders. If not then you can tap into the plug under the hood. The light blue wire comes into the harness and if not wired will not have a wire in the opposite side. I can take a pic later this evening and show you unless I can find my post where I posted the pic.

Here is the link for the thread where I posted the pic. The black wire you see laying there is the wire I added. In the other side of the connector is the light blue wire that comes for the fog light power. This connector is under the hood on the drivers side against the fender next to the master cylinder. Hope this helps.

I stumbled upon this fog light wiring as well. Whoever owned my jeep before me ran the fog lights through to a switch that they stuck under the PASSENGER side dash. I found the harness under the fender flares and cut the originals off and soldered the wires together. Now my OEM fog light switch turns on my Warn lights. I'll try to remember to post a pic tomorrow. I think the fog light wiring is in the same sleeve as the running lights at the front of the fender flare.
