Hey guys, I put the top down to go for a summer drive then when I tried to put it back up it ended up looking like this, all saggy and crap.

I used some 2x4s to push up on the bar next to the rear seats to help out a little bit but it still looks horrible....

You probably bent it when you put it down. It looks to have been bent down/back. You lower it in that direction. You raise it the other way. So I doubt that you did this when you raised it. Regardless, the rear bow (the L-shaped one) is too low. The L part looks like the angle is way too acute.

Did the straps that hold the rear bar from going back too far slip off?
Take a pic of all the bars from the inside.

Yeah it does look bent. I had a friend who took his JK through an automatic car wash and it bent the crap out of one of his supports and it looked like that after the fact. If it is bent, I wonder if there's a way to bend it back? Good luck.

Don't know if this will help...
The softtop frame on my TJ is SLIGHTLY bent.

Every time I put the roof up, this plastic part completely misses the bar it is supposed to be sitting on.

I have to push it up so it will sit on the bar properly, like this...

Yours looks worse than mine though - It might pay to check yours on both sides.

Thanks for that suggestion, I checked it and it's in place but that strap that looks to be taut in your photo is all slacked in my photo. It isn't tight and it has snapped out of one of the rivets as well. Again I'll get pictures this weekend to show you guys.

I'm just hoping I can fix it, I'm OCD about this type of stuff :atomic:

If the strap has torn off the frame, that is the whole problem. If it just needs to be reattached, you can easly use some small sheet metal screws and washers. Drill through the strap and frame and secure with the screws.

not expecting a reply, but wanted to thank everyone who contributed on this thread. While getting jeep ready for the summer, i checked the webbing and it split but still usable. I did not find much on this subject while looking for info on fixing/replacing the strap. Now i can look for the replacement webbing before i need it. And not pony up for a top replacement at this time.
