My opinion but I feel like there is nothing wrong with a stock Rubicon as long as you wheel it. Seem to have less things break that way anyways

In their defense, we don't get Wranglers coming through the shop (our company has a no-buy order on them, actually) and there are only 3 of us out of the 60 or so workers on our shift that own them so they aren't really exposed to them much. Also, a majority of our co-workers dislike them for whatever bizarre reason.

But the co-worker in question who mixed up our Jeeps was a Chrysler tech for the better part of 13 years...he of all people should know better.

Simple answer...park it on the yawn!:action-smiley It's not in the lot and since it's an "off-road" vehicle, you parked it off the road.

Brother had the same-ish issue in HS. He had a F150 that was a bit bigger (leveling kit and wider tires) than your average one. When he got his parking permit, a student complained that his truck was to big to park next to. (they could not open their door) So they asked him to see if he could get a more normal sized car....he is 6'8"... To solve the problem he parked anywhere he pleased that was not in the lot. Like on the grass. i have no pics cause well cell phone cameras where not a thing at the time.

This is the ONLY thing people have said to me since I got my Willy this past month. Way less stress than a boyfriend, BTW.

I went to the market bout 4 pm and a cop was in the parking lot we have two LOL , anyway i went in and got my wifes smokes, and when I came back out he was in front of my Jeep with the lights on, First thing I think is " damn, I KNEW I shouldn't have gone down Lambertson Road", but he was on a call to pull a ambulance out of a ditch and he wanted to know if I'd help since the nearest tow truck was in Ahoskie, so off I go down 258 following a LTD crown Vic till I see a F550 front ens sticking up slightly and backwards, took half an hour to get him out, com sees the thin blue line on my bumper an actually knows what it means and asked me with the line what did I bring to the table, I told him 20 year JSOC, he asks if I'm currently armed, I said " in this town theres no need " I made a new friend

It went pretty good considering I actually had to use 4 lo for the first time in 8 years
after they wanted to know how a 4 banger could do that, I told them its not a 2.5, its a 153 out of a 43 Willis that used to pull a howitzer around Europe in WWII. I make just a little bit more torque than a 2.5, not a lot, but enough that I can pull a f350 duel out of the mud on Ballack Road in Chesapeake when the thing is buried up to its frame.
Getting that engine is the ONLY good thing about using a Fram oil filter

When your driver side rear upper control mount is broke and can't drive your jeep until it is fixed(currently my situation) and it has you all bummed out and your boss and coworker ask where your jeep is and you tell them what happened with it and they call it a piece of sht.
Boss: where is your jeep?
Me: my rear upper control arm mount on my driver side of my frame broke and i have to get a new mount and have it welded. Boss: how much money have you put into that thing since you got it? Me: it's a jeep and i love my jeep and it will still be here years after you aren't.
Boss and a coworker: that thing is a piece of sht take it to a scrap yard and maybe they give $10.
Me: it is 18 years old and more reliable than any vehicle you own, and call my jeep a piece of sht again as soon as it's fixed I'll park ontop of your sh:censoredty: vheicle that almsot blew up last week and drive my steel smittybilt front bumper up your a and you will wonder why.
Almost lost my job over that haha. Also dont know if this fits this thread but i thought that conversation was funny so why not share

I got that again yesterday at work haha. My coworker said I'm going to have a new vehicle by the time all the work getting done to it is done. Since I got my jeep about 4 and a half months ago the only big things I did to it was new tires because low tred, oil change, and now my rear upper control arm mount on the driver side is broke so I'm getting a new mount for it. Everything else I did to it has been aftermarket parts. But back on topic when my coworker said I'll have a new vehicle when all that work is done, I told him my jeep will still be here 10 years later when you aren't. My boss and coworker are starting to not like me anymore

Went for an oil change at Walmart and one of the technicians said

"This Jeep has the wrong shocks on. It's too light for these... that's why it's so tall"

Only in Miami.

I've had plenty of people ask me how my mileage was as prospective owners but the one that stands out the most is when a dad walked up to me as i'm sitting in my lifted jeep and asked if this would be a good car for his son to commute to the city in and if the mileage was really that bad. He didn't really like when I explained to him that I didn't know the mileage that I was getting and that I had no interest in knowing

One day in my dads jku with the top and doors off some lady come up to me in parking lot and stopped for a moment and claimed "This is a REALLY cool car"

All black, massive bumpers, lift, large tires, don't F with this guy stickers, dirt simple to deal with, and not the best looking.... You bought the car version of you. - co-worker and my Boss.

This older lady in the Walmart parking lot couldn't get over not having the doors on. She even consulted the parking security guy because she thought it was illegal and extremely unsafe. Crazy

Some people think if it's not built like how they want it, it's not right. Next time he does it, tell him something he needs to buy lol

Stupid question maybe: Why are people so negative about Jeeps (based on the comments from others here and in answer to the thread topic)? I'm starting to feel like I made a mistake in buying my Willys if I'm going to be nickeled and dimed to death. I'm not off-roading and just wanted a Jeep. Sure I'm doing some cosmetic stuff and inside creature comforts and a slider top this spring to replace my freedom top, yet are the snarky responses based on mainly off-roading and the building and maintenance of these rigs? Or are Jeeps really just high maintenance rigs all around?
