what size of lift kit for 31x0.5x15s

I have a stock 99TJ.. I am leaning towards 31x10.5x15 tires, and am wondering what size of lift to buy.

A pal is suggesting a 4 inch lift.

I had also considered 33 inch tires, but, I really want to stick with the 10.5 widths.

I have 3.73 gears and at this time do not want to change any of that.

I am wanting a balanced looked.

thanx gents

You don't need a lift for 31x10.5 tires.

That's the largest tire size for a stock TJ.

Also, your jeep would look weird with a tire smaller than 33's with a 4 inch lift.

You don't need a lift for 31s. I've never disconnected the sway at to see at full bump, but keeping them connected you have non problem with 31s. Rubicons came with 31s and no lift.

A 2 inch will be fine and you will need spacers at the wheels so they don't rub. It will look good. Here is a picture attached for reference or my son's jeep. The tires on this are 32 inch by 11 At 2 inches, you don't need to replace any suspension components. .

You don't need spacers for 31 x 10.5's.

A 2" would not look bad, but as mentioned above is not needed.

Do not do 4", that will look bad and require a lot more work.

Everyone is right on the spacers. My son's wheels are a little wider and that is why he needs them. Without, the tires rub very slightly at full lock.

No lift or spacers needed. The fit and look excellent. No rub anywhere on mine.

Picture of mine above, I run 31's with no problem at all. Plus you avoid all the threads about how to fix lift issues.

There wouldn't be those how to fix it threads if they hadn't used a cheap POS lift.

I'm running 31x10.50s on stock wheels with a 1 inch body lift. I was rubbing at full turn, so I added washers to the steering stops.

you guys are too funny lol thank you all for the replies!!! I would like to do a lift of some sort, but, the tires i really like i can only get the 10.5 in a 31"... i could do 33's but, i would have to go to a 12.5, and from what i hear, 10.5 are better in snow and mud.. so.. thats why i was leaning towards the 31" tires... so that said... sounds like a 4" lift would be too high.. i almost bought 33x10.5.15 KM2 tires.. i suppose that would be ok with a taller lift too.. lol there is so much to pick from

Love my 31s. No lift and heavy bumper even weighs my suspension down

^X2 Yep. This.

If you go tube fenders, or just cut 'em off, and adjust the knuckle steering stops you could do 33s...

Stay with stock suspension height and 31's. Imagine this forum without all the posts about lifts and issues with lifted jeeps!

You could add that you trimmed the factory flares. And it looks good.

Have friend with 2" lift and 32s and it looks great. He needed wheel spacers.

Like others have mentioned, you do not need wheel spacers with the 31s you want. But perhaps just a a few washers for the steering stops.

You may, however, need to re center your rear trackbar as your right rear tire may be rubbing due to your lift. That's what I needed to do.

No lift NEEDED, but here is mine - 2.5" lift on 31s. I wish I would have went up to 32, but for now this will work out just fine.
