what temp does your 2.5 run

just a question..
my 2.5 temp goes up to 210 for a few minutes then drops down to about 190 after I drive it. it stays there after that.. is that normal to go that high before the stat opens ? Is it maybe a lazy stat ?

My 4 cyl has a 195* thermostat and the temperature gauge sits a touch below the 210* mark all the time after thermostat opens. I've never seen it go beyond 210*. If you're concerned, replace the thermostat. Use a Stant brand thermostat. You might want to replace the radiator cap also just for kicks. Both will only set you back a few bucks.

Just plain 'ole Steve.

Mine usually stays at 210, a bit lower every now and then.
