So I drove the TJ this morning into work,28 miles to and back total 56 miles .On the way home the jeep started having a bad jerking in the rear when I would let off the gass and when I would hit the gas, what the hell??Has anyone been thru this.
Best bet is to check under the jeep and visually inspect everything(flashlight helps) and make sure nothing is loose. Make sure the driveshafts and U-joints dont have too much give besides twisting a tiny bit. Make sure nothing like your axle or transfercase are leaking. If everything looks fine the problem may require some more detail to diagnose.
This describes the same symptoms as when I was going to michigan in the summer....Anytime I would hit the gas the rear end would dip down to the left and when I let off the gas it felt like I was lifting as sliding to the right....Turns out when we installed my lift my buddy loosened the rear trailing arm (I think its the same thing as a control are) and the bolt came loose and fell out. Once I went to a little po-dunk shop and gave them $20 they threw a new bolt in it for me and its been fine ever since. Hope this helps.
