What's the difference in 4cyl and 6cyl frame

Just like the subject says. What's the difference in these frames? Is it just the motor mounts or is there more to it than that? I need a frame for my 00 Sport 4.0 but all I can find close are 4 cylinder donors.

I would call my dealer to see if they list different frames by engine size. I have the parts fiche but could not tell. PM me if you want a copy. Just remind me of your year so I can upload the appropriate one. They are not up to date like the parts catalogs the dealers use.

Should be just the difference in the motor mount locations between the 2 eng. on TJs. Just have to weld your 4.0 MM to the new frame but seems like alot of work nonetheless. Is yours rusted and unrepairable?

I found a rust free rot free 04 TJ frame today for $500. If they are the same I'm going to jump all over it. I've got a plasma and a welder so the mounts are no big deal. I just want to cover all of my bases before I buy something I can't use.

t-case skid mounts are different between 00 and 04. the skid & trans mount won't bolt up, and the nutserts are different threads. it's nothing that can't be overcome however.

Nutserts are no big deal but what's different about the skids. Can I maybe just use an 04 skid?
