Whats up with these lug nuts?

A 19MM is too loose and a 3/4 fits better, If you use either one the chrome cover comes off and an 18MM fits. I don't think the chrome piece is supposed to come off before removing the lug because the lug wrench in the vehicle don't fit when the chrome piece is off.

Do you have trouble with the crome pieces coming off? I guess my 19MM is stretched from the impact wrench.

If the chrome piece is coming off of your wheel nuts it's time to get new ones. The nuts that you speak of are a really cheap type of wheel nut. The measurement for the nut is made with the chrome cap on so without that it will be an in between size. Get the solid chrome type, they are more expensive but you won't have this problem.

If you have stock wheel studs the size is 1/2-20. I've had good luck so far with the forged aluminum lug nuts. They are supossed to be as strong as steel with less than half the weight. But they are a little pricey
