Wheel recomendatons

I am considering getting some aluminum wheels to replace my cragar wheels. Have looked at the black rock 900 viper series as well as the mickey thompson sidebiter. Anyone have experience with either or both of these?

Post some pics. I have no experience with either wheel, but I do have opinions.

I like them both. The Black Rock won't show rock rash as bad as the MT.

I'm not a fan of black anodized aluminum wheels if the rig they're going on will see much serious trail use. It wouldn't take long before the black anodizing would start scraping off and then they'd reall start looking bad. Maybe it's just because I'm too frigging old to want to have to worry about that kind of stuff (natural aluminum colored gouges/scrapes showing through the black anodizing).

Me? I'm a real fan of the not-so-common American Racing #23 wheel which is what I run. It doesn't look so good now either but being as it is natural aluminum colored, the scrapes and gouges don't show up unless you get close enough to notice them.

I don't know your wheeling practices, but if your like some of us that own Jeeps, we use and abuse ours. In my opinion, those wheels are just to nice to wheel the wee out of. Your going to trash them and they won't be near as nice as they are now because off all the rock rash they will get. If you don't wheel in this manner then I wouldn't worry about it. BTW, I like the Mickey's also.

I like the MT Classic lock wheels. The ring can be literally destroyed and not affect the rim. Then you can just replace the ring if you want it pretty again.

I like that wheel's looks too, I just wish they'd come out with a version that has more backspacing. With a 15x8, I think they're right at 3.25" of backspacing which makes them stick out too far. That is a good looking wheel though!

3 5/16" and 3 5/8" in a 15" rim.

Oh ok yeah, 3 5/16" is right, I knew it was something close to 3.25".

I didn't know MT also made a 15x8 version of that wheel with 3 5/8" of backspacing that fits the 5x4.5" bolt pattern, that must be new. That's interesting because it only gives another 5/16" backspacing which seems like an expensive thing to do for that little difference in backspacing.
