So there is a chirp whenever I accelerate or hit a bump. It's getting really annoying. I originally thought it was angry sparrows so u spent several hours getting the old u joints and centering ball out and replaced them. Drove away and it still chirps. I'm at a complete loss now. Any ideas?
Also, my driveshaft knocks when I accelerate but I don't hear it do it when I maintain speed. Any ideas in that? Everything is tight and assembled correctly.
Drive shaft knocking you hear is probably a bad transmission mount. The chirping noise could be suspension related. My old control arms would squeak when I wen't over bumps, drove me nuts. Does it make noise if you rock the Jeep by hand?
It's the various threads in that link, but in general, pull your serpentine belt off and then try spinning the idler pulley. It should spin freely. If it feels gummed up or make noise or is wobbly, it needs replaced. But do your research... I'd hate to see you keep spending money and not fix it.
I got a squeak in the rear as well.
But I know what it is, is the rear seat. If its down so you can sit in it it squeaks. Folded and tumbled forward it's quiet. If someone is sitting on it it gets louder.
I don't have a rear seat. Didn't come with one when I bought it b
