Where does this chassis ground go?

Hi Everyone,
Pulled the dash apart (02 TJ) to install a new stereo and found this ground strap laying behind the dash (see picture). Can anyone tell me where this thing is supposed to attach? It looked like it may have attached to the back of the OEM stereo.
Thanks,
Jimjam

I think mine was just laying there too, I think it might have been on the back of the stock stereo.

Looks like a grounding cable as its attached to bare metal. Loosely remember seeing that when I pulled mine apart, I think i had mine going to the ebrake mount though.

That goes to the back of the radio where there should be a ground stud & nut for it to attach to.

Thanks guys! The OEM stereo has a boss on the back that looks like it would be for grounding strap; however, the previous owner may have replaced the OEM stereo with another OEM stereo that has.......more buttons. I guess that it was I am doing with the new stereo....more buttons to play with.
Thanks again.

The tag on the strap should have a part number on it. Just google that part number and find out exactly what it goes to. I think you are correct that it is a ground strap to the radio. The PO of my jeep had the ground of the after market radio spliced into it.
