where does this go!!!!!!

While fixing my headlights I came across these items behind dash and under steering wheel.
Where are they supposed to be mounted?
One is a ground strap and the other is some sort of relay?
WTH?

Is something not working, vehicles are built with a common wiring harness and unless it has every possible option there will be left over connectors.

hvac dash light

All works except my HVAC dash light in the center console..
Just unnerving to have a grounding wire dangling around, that is frayed looking on the end a relay dangling around.

I had a similar issue with the ground strap under the hood. I think with age they just break down and fray. I would reattach it to something grounded. Let me know if that fixes your HVAC lights, mine don't work either and I would love it if it was simply a frayed ground wire!

That last pic is your hazzard flash relay. They typically were taped to one of the wire bundles under the dash. I assume yours has just fallen due to wear, or previous owner moving things around and bumped it.

As for the ground strap in pic 2, I would guess the stero ground strap. That strap had a round wire connector to it, which bolted onto the back of the factory stereo along with the support post to the back of it. Assuming you now have an aftermarket stereo, that's likely where it came from - during the removal process of the factory stereo.

That foam covered bit looks like my stock antenna cable did for the OEM stereo.

The antenna wire is a coaxial cable. That appears to be the original ground strap for the factory radio, as stated above.
