I have a 2004 Wrangler that has just started making a whinning noise as soon as it is started and gets louder when acclerating. When you open the hood it is noticably coming from the drivers side but when you turn off the ac (which is on the passenger side) it seems to stop. Could it be the power steering pump(on drivers side) actually making the noise? That maybe when the ac is on it is drawing tension on the power steering pump. I am looking for ANY suggestions or experiences that anyone else can give some opinion or advice on checking out.
The power steering pump can definitely make a whining noise. With the AC on the belt is working harder.. so probably something related to something hooked up to the belt.. I know this doesn't help, but I'm sure someone will have some good advice.
