why does my engine stall and hesitate?

Has anyone experienced this? 2002 wrangler apex, 6 cylinder, automatic. 90 deg day driving with the top down and air conditioning on full blast about 40 mph 4.0 automatic trans. I heard a clucking sound underneath the jeep and 1/4 mile further the engine stalled at a stop light. It started back up right away and didn't seem to have any more problems.
Weeks later another hot day driving 60 mph on the highway the engine hesitated 2 different times. I drove home without another incident. Help please.

Have you checked your catalytic converter. On hot days it could be enough to heat the screens up and cause an exhaust blockage.

Idle air controller-located on the side of the throttle body

Crankshaft position sensor- located drivers side of the transmission bell housing

Do you have the recommended spark plugs or something like the E3's? Mine would stall and hesitate but putting in APP plugs fixed it.
