The original's were 30x9.5 . Will the 10.5 float on the rims? (rim moves from side-side inside the tire)

i have no issue with my 31X10.50 on my stock 02... no rub, nothing. my rims are 8 inches wide, same style as yours.

Thanks for the replies! I was not referring to rubbing though, I was concerned about the rim floating inside the tire. I know that if you put to much of a wide tire on a small rim, the rim floats side to side while the tire keeps tracktion on the road. Feels like the back end wants to fish tale. I believe my stock's are 8.5, so I was worried if 10.5 would be to much.

10.5 is not too much for a 8 inch rim.

31's on stock rims

width of your rim should be stamped on the inside. most tire sites give a range for each tire

Yeah I run 31x10.5 on stock rims as well. I have never noticed the tire floating even though that was one of my concerns when I bought the tires.

I have two on the back now, waiting for the other two to be shipped in. Yeah there is no floating what so ever. (glad) The tires im running on the back are deff. less noisey then the fronts. And the tread on them are more robust. Go figure.

you should be able to run 12.5 width on a 8 in rim.
I have 11.5 on my 8 in rims.

Had I know that I would have bought 11.5 instead. I have stock Rims, and a shackle lift, I wanted to get the largest tires I could get, so it wouldnt look so puney. Oh well...I'll my 31x10.5 are being shipped to me...soon I'll have them on my stock rims (temporarily) as well.
