What tranny do you have. What one are you trying to put in? What engine do you have?

42rle and a 4.0 why? The power steering doesn't connect to those. Steering gearbox, to clarify.

He thought you were asking about the transmission and so did I... "gear box" reminds me more of a transmission. Now that I know you're asking about the steering box, no, an '02 steering box will not fit on an '03 or newer without modifying the steering box mount on the frame. The steering box mounting bolt pattern changed slightly in '03 when the switch was made from the Saginaw to a Mercedes steering box.

Do you know which box is superior I know the older ones leak a lot

I dunno if either is more prone to leakage than the other. I know the Saginaw steering box I had in my '97 never leaked.
