window crank please help

can aneyone tell me how to remove the window crank handle from a 1997 tj

pull really hard. I don't think it's held on with anything other than plastic teeth against the grooved metal post. Mine came off when I first got it. Pushed it back on, and haven't had a problem since. It's been over a year.

it should be held on by a c clip, most window cranks are done that way

edit: it does have a c clip please don't yank her out without removing that first

I used a thin screw driver and popped the metal clip off.

If you use a paint can key it comes right out. Also put the clip back on BEFORE you put the crank back on and just give it a whack with the side of your hand and it pops back on. A lot easier than trying to get it on while on your door.

They make a special tool to remove those clips if you don't have anything laying around that will pop em off...you can buy em for under $5 at most auto parts stores. Also be careful...those little clips are notorious for launching 30 feet in the air and never being seen again. lol

Put the little clip back in the window crank handle before you install it. It will pop right on.
