windshield wipers work intermittently??

for short version read the bold below.

My wipers work some days, some days they don't.some times it works very slooooow.

when they don't work, i have tried different speeds, spraying the windshield, jiggling the switch and turning off the car and then back on. none seems to work.

I haven't ran any test b/c i didn't know where to start. obviously its not the fuses so my great troubleshooting ability makes me think its

a)connections
b)relay
c)motor/gear
d)maybe some sort of breaker or board that controls it.

I'm lost. are there common problems i should start with, i really don't want to start tracing wires?

Start with a new wiper motor. Mine was acting up like yours. Some days it worked, some days it didn't. No mater how much I played with the switch I couldn't get it to go. Got a new motor and first time I hit the switch worked perfectly and has every time since then.

Real easy to replace too.

sorry, with the weather in the Midwest having thunderstorms and then 2 hours later sleet and then 10 min later snow, its a very vital thing to have.

i has hoping there was some test to run before i yanked the motor and dropped about 54.00
