OK, just had a new ARB installed into my 05 jeep Rubi LJ.
How can I delete the sensor wiring so I can just engage the front locker. Can I just run a power switch to the front locker air pump and use that to engage it. The way it was explained to me that the sensor had to show the rear was locked before the front will engage.
Just create a simple source of switched 12v power for the front ARB's compressor and you're done. My Rubicon's lockers no longer make use of any of the OE locker control wiring which greatly simplifies everything. You might also create a duplicate switched 12v power source for the rear Rubicon locker's compressor. The rear locker light will continue flashing and not go solid after engaging the rear locker but that's not a big deal for most.
Jerry Im using a new ARB in the rear and using the stock locker in the front. It went out if you remember my previous post.
The way they have it wired is.... I have to put a fuse in a plug at the back of the jeep to use the ARB. If I leave the fuse in the light on the switch flashes all the time. So I have to remove the fuse.
He said he had to do it that way because the front will not lock unless the sensor sends a signal saying the rear is locked. I want to do away with the sensor and wire the front factory locker so it will work on its own switch
And I have no problem removing the stock switches. Just wanting to know if the front will work if I put it on its own 12 volts and switch and removing the sensor crap
Absolutely. I didn't bother removing the sensors on mine. I also moved the compressors into the engine compartment which simplified the compressor wiring. The Rubicon compressor has its own internal pressure switch so it automatically shuts itself off when enough pressure is present. It'll also turn itself back on if need be from a small leak. Just give it 12v and a ground and it's happy.
First I may try changing the hose from the rear compressor to the front and see if that will work
