Wiring issue

My question is that I'm installing Hella lights on my windshield and I would like to know what wire goes where. I got these from a friend, so no wiring diagram. I do have the relay, wires, etc. I did a search with no luck. Thanks again guys! Oh yeah, I'm installing them on a 98 TJ.

Guess the search function wasn't working right because on 5-12-10 I posted a picture on how to wire up a set of aux. lites. Check it out.

Naw, it's working. I just didn't use it correctly. I found your post 03 RUBI, thanks. One question, wiring it that way will let me turn it on and off and not have to worry if the headlights are on? I know, probably a stupid question but electrical work isn't my strong area.

They should be independent of the headlights.

If you want to go one better. And if your not a wiring kinda guy ask someone else to do this. You get a three way switch. On-Off-On The first ON is wired to the high beams so when they go on so do the lights. The OFF is well OFF no driving lights at all even high beams are on. The second ON is Driving Lights on by themselves no ther lights on. This is a real nifty setup and give you choices. Either way you go you love them. I have four on the front of my TJ (Hella 500 FF's) two are somewhat strightahead and the other two are turned out 10 degrees....I get a full sweep of light.

Make sure you get the wires on the lights right. If you reverse the ground and hot wires the light will be inverted - the inverted light will negate or absorb whatever light it encounters - making everything darker than it should be.

I'm sure you've seen a car approaching you where it looks like it only has one headlight - that's probably one with an inverted headlight. Dark stars, black holes in space - about the same thing.
