Wiring of stock fog lights

I was wondering if there was an easy way to rewire my stock foglights so they stay on when my high beams are on?? I don't wanna replace them, and I wanna keep the stock switch, just looking for a way to bypass them killing out when I put on the brights!! Any suggestions appreciated!!

I am not sure offhand but I used to wire police cars for awhile and I am sure there is an easy bypass option. I will try and take a gander at how they have the switch and lights wired in sometime tomorrow unless someone else already knows.

That link I don't think works or it didn't for me anyhow. And BTW your a braver man than me to run 150W lights in place of 55W ones on the stock flimsy wiring. How long have you had them that way????I was just wondering cause I run KC lights with 55W bulbs hooked into my high beam relay with a cut off switch and I was worried about that with the weak factory wiring these things have. But if yours has been that way a while I don't think I need to worry bout mine no more

Speaking of "fog lights"......I'll most likely buy "after market" lights in the future.....does it make sense to use a toggle switch on or under the dash? (On/Off)????

I'd also like a few recommended after-market examples of fog light sets, with an estimated cost, source, installation tips, etc..

I run OEM fogs on my bumper and have IPF's on my light bar. The IPF's came with their wiring harness and both 55W and 110W bulbs. Got em from DPG for 100 something (120ish IIRC). I have el cheapo O'Reilly's lights on the back.

I ran all custom wiring for the OEM fogs as I didn't have a switch or the wiring on my 97 SE. I used sufficient gauge so I don't have to worry about wires melting.

When I do lights on my windshield, I'd like to go with IPF's to keep the lighting consistent. If not, I'll go with Hella 500's for about 55-60.00.

The thing to keep in mind is that even though these lights usually come with wiring harnesses there is NOTHING that says you have to use that wiring. By going with your own wiring, you can run it how/where you want, make it look stock, and ultimately use a switch that will match your interior or other switches (I'm wierd like that - I like my stuff to look either stock or all consistent - I HATE mixed looking parts).

this was posted before. I pulled the relay, bent the tab. Also, I replaced the stock fogs with KC's, used the factory plugs, work off of foglight switch. All in all it was a 15 minute project at the cost of 0 dollars.

Did the mod!! Super simple and quick!! Can't wait to drive home tonight!!!
So everyone who wants to know what to do doesn't have to join ROF, all you have to do is open the hood, open the fuse block under the hood on the passenger side, find the relay for your fog lights (look at diagram), remove relay, bend the #1 tab only around so it will plug back in without the #1 prong going in, then replug your relay!! Easy as pie!!

Under the hood I can only find relays for fuel pump, horn,ac,asd, abs pump, abs system, heated rear window and starter. Where is the fog light one? Am I blind? Any pics?

Ok just got done. Yes on my 00 it was behind the glove box.

Mine clicks when i turn the high beam lights on. Well it ends up this relay is whats clicking so i gues if yours clicks, yours should be behind the glove box. I took the relay out and it stopped clicking so this was like my test to make sure i'm pulling the right one.
Note this is for the relays behind the glove box, for relays under the hood i think it was pin #1 or something like that.
Anyhow here are some pics.
Its located right behind the glove box. There are 2 relays. Turn on your high beam headlights and put your finger on top of the relay and you will feel it click (unless yours is underneath the hood.)

Bend the #2 pin (fingers work great - no need for pliers)

Put it back on and give it a try.

well, little late.but .
my 150 KC's (landing lights) are NOT on the factory wiring, my relay is only triggered off the stock foglamp relay, not powered by it. my lights run off a 10ga wire from the battery, to relay, than to each light separatly.
