I have been told by my wonderful, and all-knowing
, Jeep dealership that the reason I have a "bump, shake, or vibration" in the steering wheel when I hit a bump, is due to my going from a factory size tire to a 31" size tire on my otherwise un-modified Jeep Wrangler, and thus causing things to be out of the correct setup.
Is this true? Can a wee 31" tire cause this?
I changed the tires due to the crappy Goodyears being cupped, and severe death wobble. (Must also say the dealership changed out the stabilizer, before I changed the tires.)
I now have BF Goodrich All-Terrains.
Now I have been reduced to, what I have found to be called, "bump steer".
The Jeep is a 2004, with only 39,000 miles on it. The original Death Wobble started at only 15,000 miles. I have dealt with the dealership all this time.
What is going on? Can this be fixed under warranty? Is my dealership crazy?
By the way, I am in Knoxville, TN. Any local suggestions would be welcome.
