Wrangler bogs down when accelerating

'06 Wrangler inline 6 cyl. bogs down when accelerating. It will lurch and jerk abruptly for a few seconds and the CEL will flash at that point while it feels like it's going to stall (does NOT ever actually stall). When you let off the gas and reengage it's fine. If you don't let off the gas for a second it seems to continue longer.

Fuel pump/filter was replaced a few months ago, already had the fuel injectors/throttle body serviced. Absolutely no codes coming up.

My guess is a bad O2 sensor. this was the case on my 2001 Cherokee. Blinking CEL are usually emissions related.

My Lj was doing that when I needed new catalytic converters. You also might have dirty O2 sensors.

Sounds like a plugged catalytic converter(s)

I Can't Believe It! New to the Forum from Texas, so "Hello" to everyone. i came across this forum by accident looking for answers to my problem with my new-used 06 unlimited, which happens to be identical to the OP by jbrunker. gonna revive it and see if anyone else knows how to fix it. Mine isn't kicking codes at all. Does that mean it is an emissions issue?
i can start replacing parts but before i do, thought i'd get this thread back in the rotation.
oh yeah, i would like to avoid replacing the catalytic converter just to troubleshoot....also, mine has only done it when shifting up from 1st-2nd, and from 2nd-3rd.
