Question Wrangler Engine Number

Hi Guys

I am busy importing my wrangler into Zambia and they are demanding an engine number, which does not appear on my UK registration. Where would I find the number on my engine?

Thanks for the help

Not sure where a real casting number is however, some times there is a sticker with a bar code on top of the valve cover. Not sure if that would work or not.

thanks, but these guys are being quite silly about it. They want a stamped number! Trouble is the vehicle is at the sea port 2000km away and Im trying to do this via remote control. I will try this on them though, you never know your luck

If you have the VIN you might contact the manufacturer and ask them. Just an idea.....

on my 06 (it may be slightly different) it's in 2 places I can see:

On top of the intake manifold, just aft of the firing order, or in other words, on the drivers side, right in the middle of the manifold.

2nd spot is inside the passenger side motor mount where the engine casting attached to the mount. Mine's a bit dirty, but I'm sure it's the same number.
