Yet another suspension question....

Ok.... I'm going to take my turn at beating this dead one.

I have stock length SkyJacker Hydros. Can I add a 2" coil spacer without getting new shocks? I will hopefully be buying 31" tires soon and will be on pavement most of the time. The only real offroading will be through farm fields, snow, and the occasional trail.

Have you looked at any of the other threads regarding this same question always asked? Yes you can add 2 inch coil spacers with your stock length shocks. It is advised to get longer shocks but not mandatory. You can also run 31 inch tires with no lift at all. Do a little reading on this forum and you will find all your answers.

I knew about running the 31's w/out a lift, just not about adding the coil spacers on the stock length shocks. There may have been a post but the problem is that there have been SO MANY "how big of a tire can I run on the stock suspension" that to be honest I didn't feel like wading through all of them.... I didn't want to assume that everyone who was adding the 2" spacers were also adding new shocks.
Thanks for your help! I really didn't want to have to replace my shocks again.

if it gives you driving characteristics you don't like, then change em...you will be operating outside fo their intended range, so it could happen...

make sure to check the Toe after you lift it

everyone beats a dead horse every once in awhile. don't worry about it.

I run that set up and it's ok, I bottom out the shocks over some good dips in the road, but it's no biggie. You'll be fine.
