16" wheels and tires

Okay, I think I am pretty much set on changing over to 16" wheels and 245/75 16 tires from my current 31.5 x 10.5 15" wheel setup. Yes I know I will lose a little height, but hopefully that will help my 4 banger jeep's sluggishness problem a little and look a little better to boot.

I was originally looking at buying new All terrain tires from discount tire:

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/cart/selectStore.do?productTypeId=1&v=013627|1994&r=COD INT|pc|80228&storeCode=COD-05&productId=18279

But then I got to looking on craigslist and found Goodyear MTRs in the same size with a little over 50% tread life left for about 350, so figure a little over 400 to get them mounted and balanced vs 650 on the new falken all terrains.

What does everyone think? What is the better value? I don't think I will be doing any hard core wheeling, just some light trails and mostly road driving in all seasons. Will the MTRs be a lot noiser? I don't care much about the noise (the damn thing is already very loud on the interstate, but I don't need my wife complaining about it any more than necessary)

Asking price was $400, he already said he would go down to $375, so I figured I could get $350 if I brought cash in hand. $300 is probably a stretch unless I wait a few days and see if he still has them.
