How strict is your state and the inspection centers in the town you live in ?
have you done the nutter bypass yet? That is a must do.
Set your carb by a vacuum gauge and not just what seems right is a good thing to

Here in wichita falls texas i was able to take every vacuum line off except the vacuum advance and the pcv line .
I did leave the gas tank return line going to the charcole canister.
I no longer have the egr, vacuum switch assembly, control valves...ect
But every thing I disconnected and threw away I capped any thing left.
I also removed the cat.
My yj starts easy and the first time every time , idles dead smooth at 670 rpm and I am getting 18 mpg city
My engine bay is how God himself would of done it.
