1988 yj bad transfer case auto trans

New to this forum and hope someone has an answer for my problem. I just picked up an 1988 yj with an auto trans for a fairly good price. Knew it had a few issues mostly the transfer case is a little sloppy going into 4 wheel low .was thinking about having it rebuilt.I am used to doing my own work but have never pulled a transfer case on an auto trans if anyone has done it how difficult will it be .I can take it to a trans shop in town and they can rebuild it Just hoping to save a little money by removing it and installing it myself.thank in advance for any advise.
