1988 YJ engine stalls at speed

Dear Forum Members.
So my progress on the jeep has allowed me to get it out on the road. I replaced the ignition coil as it was weak and overheated easily causing the engine to shut down. Now I can drive to about 35mph in 3rd gear, but trying to get to 4th and then to 40-45mph, the engine loses power and then stalls.
To the forum members.
a) is this a bad spark plug/distributor system
b) is this a fuel pump/filter problem.
As always I am not mechanically inclined, so simple instruction helps me.
Thank you for you support

No profile info need some engine info
4 or 6 cylinder carb or throttle body and any other work you have done for this problem.

CAT could be clogged could be fuel starvation or an electrical problem so see if you can put more info to your profile and post it up we'll get you started.
