I have a 1989 jeep wrangler with a 2.5 throttle body. It seems to be flooding its self out. i replaced the idle speed motor it seemed to help. But when i took it out for a drive it would stall and then die just like before
I also have an 89 with a trottle body injector. It acted up on me alot when I was out. Acted just like it was flooding. One day while tinkering with it (when it wouldnt start) I unpluged the injector and tried to start it. To my surprise it started but then died. So I pluged it back in then it fired right up. Never could find anyone that could solve my problem. So resently I just picked up a gaskit kit for the carb and took it abart and cleaned it and put it back together. So far it hasnt gave me that problem again. Still have my fingers crossed. Sooooo much hoping Its not the injector. That puppys not cheap. Good luck to you.
Club cripper-- did you ever solve your problem with the flooding? My '89 2.5 YJ does the same thing. I've replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, TPS, and even cut off the cat, but it still floods after about 20 mins of driving.
I replaced my fuel pump about 3 years ago and it solved the problem, but just recently started doing it again.
